Before Fame
Her sister Raina showed her an early storyboard and thumbnail draft of Sisters and sought her sister's permission to tell "her side" and then incorporated her feedback into a later draft. Her sister released the her first book Smile in 2010, which featured her in flashbacks. She took a more prominent role in Raina's second novel Sisters in 2014.
Trivia
Her beloved kingsnake Mango went missing during her family's road trip and turned up later in the family's VW van which ends up being one of her sister's book series' most-remembered comedic moments. She has a fascination with reptiles while her sister Raina has a fear of snakes which became both a running joke and a symbol of the sisters' differences.
