Before Fame

She grew up enjoying crafts but was inspired to work with kids after being a summer camp counselor. She attended Duke University and Vanderbilt University, and worked as a clinical psychologist for the University of Miami. In 2015 she started blogging all her projects on Damask Love.

She is bilingual and speaks both English and Spanish. She has a PhD from Vanderbilt University. She used to be a clinical psychologist before she decided she wanted to pursue crafting full-time instead.

She was born and raised in Hercules, California. Her full birth name is Amber Lynette Daigre. She married Andrew Kemp-Gerstel and they have one child named Markus.
