Indian journalist who is recognized for having served as the Media Editor of the BBC. He is also known for having served as editor of The Independent newspaper and presented the BBC Radio 4 program The Media Show.
He started his career working as the newspaper editor for his school newspaper in 2005. Then at 18, he started working in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He started his hosting career in 2006 when he joined The Wright Stuff program on the Five network.
He is also known for having written a weekly column for the London Evening Standard, restaurant reviews for The Independent on Sunday and several pieces for The Salisbury Review.
He was born in Kolkata, India but was raised in England since the age of three. He married fellow academic Charlotte Faircloth in September of 2013.
