Civic leader and politician who was in the Oklahoma State Senate, District 46, from November 2006 until January 15, 2012. He notably spearheaded an initiative to ease the process of donating abandoned properties to Habitat for Humanity by local governments.
He obtained a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from Colby College in 1996 and a masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School in 1999.
In graduate school he produced a documentary on the AIDS epidemic in India which was entitled From Ashes.
His brother, David Harlow Rice, perished during the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
He ran against incumbent Jim Inhofe for the U.S. Senate in 2008, but was defeated.
