He was elected a seat in the National Assembly, where he represented a district in a Bas-Congo province in 2006.
He was born to a family in Leuven, Belgium and grew up in DR Congo.
He joined the Congolese Liberation Movement, a rebel group led by Jean-Pierre Bemba in 2000.
