American singer and songwriter whose rendition of Bob Dylan's song "Forever Young" aired on the FX television series Sons of Anarchy. She has written songs for such platinum artists as Avicii, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Little Big Town.

Before Fame

She spent her childhood onstage in various Oklahoma City community theaters, and her teenage years were spent singing in talent shows and teaching herself how to play guitar and piano.


She began to write songs at age 17. At 19, her life changed when she was kicked out of Middle Tennessee State University for writing songs instead of going to class. She then moved to Los Angeles, CA with $20 to her name.

Her great-great aunt is actress Judy Garland. She was born in Tinker AFB, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
