Turkish journalist and politician who became a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, representing the Sirnak electoral district for the Green Left Party, in 2023. She previously served as a lecturer for the Kurdish language at the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales (INALCO) in Paris, France. She worked as a translator and journalist for the Turkish edition of the French newspaper Le Monde Diplomatique. She also earned recognition for hosting the IMC TV program Gündem Müzakere from 2011 to 2016.

She traveled abroad to Paris, France, after having completed her primary and secondary education, in order to study communications at the University of Metz and attend journalism school. Trivia
In 2020, she was convicted of membership in a terrorist organization and sentenced to six years and three months in prison due to her presence at conferences held by the Democratic Society Congress, a group alleged to be affiliated with the banned Kurdistan Workers Party. However, she asserted that her attendance was only in a journalistic capacity. Her trial has been publicly denounced by parties such as the Committee to Protect Journalists, who condemned the Turkish government for equating journalism with terrorism.
Family Life
She was born to parents Kiymet and Orhan Doğan, the latter of whom was a Kurdish human rights lawyer and Democratic Society Party politician. She is the granddaughter of Yusuf and Ayşe Doğan.
