British mathematician renowned for his work in the branches of combinatorics and number theory. He has held positions at a number of academic institutions, including the University of Oxford, and has received a number of mathematics' most prestigious honors, such as the 2007 SASTRA Ramanujan Prize.
He studied at Fairfield Grammar School and competed at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 1994 and 1995. He earned his doctorate from Trinity College, Cambridge in 2003.
In 2006, he became the first Herchel Smith Professor of Pure Mathematics at the University of Cambridge.
He was born in Bristol, England.
He and fellow British mathematician Owen Saunders both attended Trinity College, Cambridge.
