Before fame
He studied music from a young age including piano at a conservatory but did not initially pursue a music career. He went on to study medicine and became a general practitioner before working in palliative care. He did not fully commit to a music career until his mid-20s after completing his medical studies. He participated in several songwriting competitions before he was able to get a record deal. He released his self-titled debut album Ben Mazué in 2011. His career further expanded when he released his album Paradis in 2020.
Trivia
He won the SACEM "Découvertes" prize at the Festival Jacques Brel de Vesoul in 2006. He followed this with a win at Paris Jeunes Talents in 2008 and became a FAIR laureate in 2010. He won a Victoires de la Musique award in 2022 for Concert/Tour of the Year for his Paradis Tour. He launched the podcast Amour Jungle in 2023.
