Benjamin Sum

About

Burmese pop and pop rock singer who rose to prominence as a contestant, and eventually runner-up, on the 4th season of Myanmar Idol. He has earned renown for his exhaustive humanitarian efforts, having organized benefit concerts for victims of the Australian Brush Fires and those affected by the military coup d' état in his home country of Myanmar in the year 2021.

Before Fame

He began performing music publicly in 2018 and after he decided to audition for Myanmar Idol's 4th season, he was chosen to be one of the Top 11 finalists. He completed the series as runner-up with over 50% of the popular vote.

Trivia

He has earned countless accolades throughout his career, including several Joox Popular Song Awards, and titles such as Chin Person of the Year, Male Singer of the Year, and Most Influential. Some of the songs for which he has become best known include "Angel" and "Ka Tlin Lohna."

Family Life

His father, a former missionary, passed away when he was just four years old. At the age of eight, he also lost his four-year-old younger sister.
