Dutch rock singer and actress known for songs like "I Know," "A Little Famous," "Fuel My Fire," and "Maybe the Wine," as well as albums including Few Like Me, Sticky Tales, True Stories I Made Up, and A Fool for Love.

Before fame

She sang with her sister Katja Schuurman in the band Jeunes Turcs in 1995 before releasing her solo singles including "A Little Famous" and "Maybe the Wine" in 1999. Her break came with releasing her hit single "I Know" in 2001.

Trivia

She returned to music in 2017 after a long album gap and released the autobiographical album A Fool for Love in 2018. She won a Musical Award for Best Female Lead for The Last 5 Years and earned another musical theater nomination for Vijftig Tinten...de Parodie. She has also acted in projects including Flikken Maastricht, Painkillers, Meisje van Plezier, and De Break-Up Club.

Family life

She is the younger sister of Katja Schuurman. She married director Arne Toonen in 2008, and their son Chico was born in 2009.
