Canadian punk and alternative rock singer known for fronting the post-punk band FRIGS, especially their acclaimed 2018 album Basic Behaviour, and for her solo work as BRIA including her 2025 debut album Big Dog. She is also known for standout tracks such as "See'er," "Rent," "Green Rocky Road," "Stretch the Struggle," and her post-punk-driven performances on FRIGS songs like "Waste," "Doghead," and "Chest."

Before Fame

She came up in Toronto's indie and DIY music scene and eventually formed the post-punk band FRIGS. She and FRIGS released early EPs starting in 2014. Her breakthrough arrived when FRIGS' 2018 album Basic Behaviour earned critical acclaim and a Polaris Music Prize long-list nomination. She began releasing solo music in the early 2020s and released her debut solo album Big Dog in 2025.

Her 2025 album Big Dog was inspired by a pep talk from a close friend who nicknamed her "Big Dog" during a difficult period.

Family Life

She was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She relocated from Toronto to Los Angeles in the mid-2020s.
