American science fiction author who founded the publishing company MonkeyBrain Books. He became well known for his Bonaventure-Carmody series.
He studied English literature and history at the University of Texas, Austin.
He was a member of the writer's collective Clockwork Storybook from 1998 to 2002, which also hosted Bill Willingham and Mark Finn.
He married Allison Baker, with whom he co-founded MonkeyBrain Books.
He published the work of Paul Di Filippo in his first Adventure anthology.
