Associate Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court who is best recognized for having also served as a member of the Oregon House of Representatives. He is also known for having previously served on the Oregon Court of Appeals from 2013 until 2019.
He attended Wilson High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Reed College. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School in 2000.
He is also known for having taught as an adjunct professor at Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon.
He was born and raised in Portland, Oregon.
He was originally appointed to the Oregon Court of Appeals in December of 2013 by then serving governor John Kitzhaber.
