Actress, poet, writer, and artist who has performed in over 25 plays, 30 television shows, and ten films. She has had five books published - two plays, and three poetry collections - and in 2003 launched her own line of jewelry.
Her writing career started at age 14, when she won the newspaper Correio da Manhã's national short story contest. She received her bachelors degree in theatre from the School of Communication and Arts at the University of São Paulo.
In 1971, she joined the National Liberation Alliance, performing plays that protested against censorship and the torture practices of the military regime. In 1972, she was arrested while teaching at Oswaldo Aranha College, and was imprisoned for 20 days where she was tortured alongside her colleagues.
She has two children - Yann, born in 1988, and Crystal, in 1991.
