Stage actor most famous for his roles in musical theatre productions, including Hairspray, Smokey Joe's Cafe and Saturday Night Fever. On television, he played Sgt. David Gabriel on the series The Closer from 2005 to 2012. 

Before Fame

He moved to California to follow his dream of acting after graduating from Monacan High School in Chesterfield County, Virginia.

Trivia

He was nominated for both a Drama Desk Award and Tony Award for his role as Seaweed in the Broadway production of the hit musical Hairspray.

Family Life

He has an older sister and an adopted younger brother. He married Tara Renee Schemansky in 2008.
