Retired Brazilian midfielder who rose to fame for his Brazilian club career, including for Corinthians between 1989-1993. He helped lead the club to the 1990 Campeonato Brazil title, and subsequently turned to soccer broadcasting for Rede Bandeirantes following his 1999 retirement.
He played his youth soccer for Ponte Preta and Guarani between 1979-1983.
He helped lead the Brazilian national soccer team to a silver medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games. He later helped lead the national team to a runner-up finish at the 1991 Copa América tournament.
He is the father of two children.
He played alongside Cafu for the Brazilian squad.
