Former football tackle with the Green Bay Packers in their early years. He was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame.
He was a standout football player at the University of Wisconsin in his teens, and joined the NFL to play with the Canton Bulldogs in 1921.
He was a punter and field goal kicker for the Green Bay Packers in a rain-soaked 1923 game against the St. Louis All-Stars, in which he punted 19 times for a Packers 3-0 victory.
He was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
At 6'0" and 180 pounds, he was big enough to block for Hall of Famer Jim Thorpe on the Canton Bulldogs.
