Football coach who is the head coach of Indiana University Hoosiers. He is a five-time conference coach of the year and a two-time national coach of the year. He is the only college football coach to have started 10-0 with two different teams in consecutive seasons. He is also credited with turning around the losingest program in college football for Indiana.
Before fame
He grew up playing football and was a quarterback for West Virginia University from 1979 to 1982. He started his coaching career in 1983 with the University of Pittsburgh.
Trivia
In 2025, his team The Hoosiers won their first-ever national championship and became the first FBS team to achieve a 16-0 season in NCAA history. He was awarded as the Paul "Bear" Bryant National Coach of the Year.
