Australian chef who is known for running and owning a variety of different restaurants throughout the business district of Sydney including Merivale's and el Loco. He is also known for publishing a cookbook entitled Mr. Hong where he has a range of dishes from tripe and pig's ear salad as well as vegetarian salads.
Prior to his work as a chef, he is known for his rebellious youth where he became consumed in graffiti and counter culture. He then began completing six month cooking courses, studying by day and working as a waiter and kitchenhand by night.
He has been featured in several episodes of the ABC TV series #Shelfie With Dan Hong as well as the cooking competition series The Chefs' Line.
He was born and raised in Epping, Australia. He first began cooking under his mothers guidance at her Newton restaurant. He is married with three children.
