Sports executive who was the highly criticized president of basketball operations for the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2009 to 2013 after beginning his career in 1995 in the business department of the Indiana Pacers.
He graduated from UCLA with a degree in English, and worked as a sports journalist while also going to law school at NYU.
In May, 2013, the Timberwolves declined the option on his contract and hired Flip Saunders to replace him as president of basketball operations.
He was raised by a jewish family in Portland, Oregon.
One of his most criticized moves was drafting three point guards in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft: Ricky Rubio (5th), Jonny Flynn (6th), and Ty Lawson (18th).
