She helped represent West Germany in the 1959 Eurovision Song Contest. She performed throughout Germany and later moved to Italy, where her popularity increased. In 1952, when the twins were 16, their parents used a visitor's visa for the family to escape East Germany.

Her parents were named Paul and Elsa Kaessler. She performed alongside her twin sister, Alice Kessler.
