Nutritionist, author, and television show host best recognized for hosting the Food Network series Healthy Appetite. She has also been seen presenting the PBS series Ellie's Real Good Food.
She began her career in her late teens and early twenties modeling for the Wilhelmina agency. She would later earn a degree in clinical nutrition from Cornell University and a master's in nutrition at Columbia University.
She has published numerous cookbooks including Small Changes, Big Results, So Easy, The Food You Crave, and Comfort Food Fix.
She and her husband Thom Schuchaskie have one daughter, Isabella.
Then first lady Michelle Obama invited her to head a nutrition education initiative at the White House's Healthy Kids Fair in 2010.
