Before Fame

He asked for an Easy-Bake Oven when he was a child, but his father wanted to give him a G.I. Joe figurine instead. He was given both of them as a compromise.


He competed against Masaharu Morimoto in two Iron Chef competitions in the early 2000s. He lost the first battle, then won the rematch.

Family Life

He married his first wife, Debra Ponzek, in 1991, then his second wife, Kate Connelly, in 1995. He and Connelly had a daughter named Sophie together before separating. He was then married to Stephanie March from 2005 to 2015.
