Initially famous for her third place finish on the first cycle of America's Next Top Model, she went on to pursue an international modeling career and achieved particularly great success in Hong Kong, appearing in an advertising campaign for Chow Sang Sang Jewelry and gracing the cover of the Hong Kong edition of Harper's Bazaar.
Before beginning her modeling career, she earned bachelor's degrees in Spanish and Biology from the University of New Mexico.
A writer as well as a model, she penned a popular blog and published a memoir titled Beauty and The Biz: The International Adventures of America's Third-to-Next Top Model.
She spent her youth in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was, at one point, romantically involved with The Shins member Martin Crandall.
She ultimately lost America's Next Top Model to Illinois-born model Adrianne Curry.
