Stage and television star most well known for her recurring roles in various popular shows like Supernatural, The Mentalist, and Monday Mornings.
While in high school and college, she acted in a number of theatre productions before earning a BA in middle eastern studies from the University of Virginia. She then complete her master's in acting at New York University.
Her career began on Broadway, acting in productions of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Shakespeare in the Park shows like Much Ado About Nothing.
She was born to Jo and Gary Swallow in in Washington DC but grew up in Jacksonville, Florida.
In 2013, she and Mark Rylance worked together to premiere Nice Fish at the Guthrie Theatre.
