Iraqi born Palestinian politician who was a member of the Supreme Muslim Council in Jerusalem during the 1980s. He also served as the Palestinian Authority Minister for Jerusalem Affairs.
He traveled the Arab world and studied in Cairo, Baghdad and Damascus.
He was at one time considered to be a potential leader of the Palestinian people and he founded and became chairman of the Arab Studies Society in 1979.
His father was a military commander.
He was a Palestinian political leader much like Yasser Arafat.
