Famous as Northern Ireland's UTV Live network weatherman and as a presenter on the UTV-affiliated radio station U105, he is also notable for his earlier work on several BBC Radio programs, including Walter Love's Day by Day show.
In his late teens, he began working for a Dundalk-based radio station. Before continuing his broadcasting career, he studied at St. Mary's University College, Belfast, and subsequently worked as a teacher.
Much of his off-screen time was spent playing All-Ireland soccer with the Burren amateur club.
He spent his youth in Warrenpoint, County Down, Northern Ireland. His daughter, Laura, pursued a career as an architect.
He and fellow broadcast journalist Paul Clark are both notable for their work on the UTV network.
