Perhaps best known for co-hosting The All New Mickey Mouse Club in the late 1980s and early 1990s, this television personality, voice actor, and writer also won two Emmy Awards for his work on the children's puppet show Between the Lions. Additionally, he hosted a 1980s Nickelodeon children's program called Livewire.

Before Fame

After graduating from the University of Georgia and subsequently earning a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University, he worked for Newsweek magazine in New York City. He went on to write a bestselling book titled MouthSounds.


He and composer Robert Kapilow co-wrote a symphony titled Chrisopylae.

Family Life

His marriage to Katy Dobbs began in 1985 and resulted in an actor son named Gil and an actress, singer, and writer daughter named Lila.

Associated With

He collaborated with puppeteer Jim Henson, writing the script for the Muppet Show on Tour.
