After earning a bachelor's degree in theatre from the College of William & Mary (in Williamsburg, Virginia), he received his M.F.A. in acting from West Virginia University.
In the early 2000s, he appeared in episodes of Law & Order (Special Victims Unit and Criminal Intent), 30 Rock, and The Sopranos.
He was raised in Newport News and Alexandria, Virginia, and he later settled in New York City.
