Famous for his starring roles in the Indian television series Jeevan Saathi, Santaan, and Byaah Hamari Bahoo Ka, Khanna is also known for recurring roles on Bhabhi and Kumkum. He played Anuj Kapadia in the TV series Anupamaa.

Early in his career, he appeared in several commercials and played a small role in the STAR One series One Night Stand.
