Cuban American DJ, producer, and remixer known as a pioneer of U.S. trance and progressive house music and as the producer behind the 1995 crossover hit "Set U Free" by Planet Soul. He is also known for the mix series Release: AM Edition / PM Edition, the double-disc compilation A State of Mind, artist albums such as The Lost World and Visions Behind Expressions, and the single "True Love."
Before Fame
He grew up in a household that appreciated music. He started DJ'ing in his teens at Miami high-school events, raves, and eventually on South Beach. He then acquired DJ residencies and developed an ear for vocal-driven and melody-first trance music. that later became his calling card. He began producing music in the mid-1990s. He founded Waxhead Records in 1996. His big break came when he collaborated with vocalist Nadine Renee as Planet Soul on the song "Set U Free."

Family Life
He was born Jorge Luis Acosta. He was born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Florida. His father spun records at home and at parties which inspired him to become a DJ.
