British guitarist, instrumentalist, composer, musician, entertainer, songwriter, and producer known for being the lead guitarist and main songwriter of Paradise Lost. He is also known for forming the side projects Vallenfyre, Strigoi, and Host.
Before fame
He co-founded Paradise Lost in 1988 and played guitar on the band's 1988 demo Morbid Existence. His big break came with Paradise Lost's 1991 breakthrough album Gothic.
Trivia
He is left-handed. He has also played keyboards for Paradise Lost and produced Paradise Lost's 2025 album Ascension. He and Nick Holmes formed the darkwave project Host and they released their debut album IX in 2023.
Family life
He married singer Heather Thompson-Mackintosh. He formed Vallenfyre after the death of his father.
