Before Fame

She took a photography class while attending the University of the Philippines and did an internship at the European Pressphoto Agency. She started her professional photography work when she lived in Cambodia for three years in 2013.

Her work has been featured in magazines like National Geographic, the New York Times, the Atlantic, and the Washington Post. In 2020, she was awarded the Infinity Award for Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism by the International Center of Photography.

She is from Manila, Philippines. She was raised by her mother and lived with twelve of her relatives.
