Norwegian folk singer, kveder, and composer best known for her specialty in traditional Norwegian folk music and balladry combined with contemporary elements. She has released multiple albums throughout her career including "Berre Meg," "Månesinn," "Bror," and "Papirfly" as well as a collaborative album with Odd Nordstoga called "Heimafrå."

Before fame

She started traditional folk music when she was only five years old, primarily beginning with kveding and ballads. By the time she was 14, she achieved the Eckbo legaters folkemusikkpris award for young folk music performers. She went on to attend Foss Upper Secondary School in Oslo.

Trivia

Her 2013 collaborative album "Heimafrå" won the Norwegian music prize Spellemannprisen in the traditional folk music category. She performed the title track for the NRK1 children's series Jul I svingen. In 2011, she performed the song "Til Ungdommen" a capella at an Oslo Cathedral memorial concert, a performance which has earned widespread acclaim.

Her mother's name is Elizabeth Harman Bratland. She is the cousin of veteran folk singer Sondre Bratland.
