He portrayed the character of Jimmy Olsen over the final three years of the radio show The Adventures of Superman. He also provided his voice for the animated TV series The New Adventures of Superman.
He was a child during The Great Depression, and at age seven he began acting to help out his family. He got one of his earliest roles on Broadway in The Old Maid.
He appeared on almost 40 radio shows a week when he was only twelve years-old, including The Fred Allen Show and CBS Radio Mystery Theater.
He had grandchildren and went to live near them when he retired in 1991.
He appeared in the Carroll O'Connor starring sitcom All in the Family.
