Known for his work with the Jewish Klezmer music group The Hester Street Troupe, this keyboard player recorded several albums with the band, including Sounds of the Shtetl and On Second Avenue.
His band's first album, Generation to Generation, contains tracks such as "Older Yiddish Medley" and "The Hebrew Lesson."
He and his bandmates formed a children's music training group called the "Hester Kids."
He and his clarinetist brother, Alan Sweifach, founded The Hester Street Troupe along with drummer Jim Bazewicz.
He and drummer Brian Choper both performed with Klezmer music groups.
