Dallas detective who was walking with John F. Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald at the time of Oswald's murder at the hands of Jack Ruby. The killing happened in the lower level of the Dallas Police Department's Headquarters.
During World War II, he served in the United States Navy and was present during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Many of the articles of clothing he wore on the infamous day of November 24th, 1963 were displayed at Dallas' Sixth Floor Museum.
He grew up in Red River County, Texas.
He was escorting Lee Harvey Oswald right after Oswald shot President John F. Kennedy.
