While at Penn State University in 1977, he earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Journalism in 1978.

Trivia

After playing for Penn State he played professional ball for the Dolphins, the Redskins, setting a record with the former team by catching Dan Marino's pass.

Family life

He and his wife, Janice, had a daughter named Mia and twin girls named Ava and Katie.
