Former NHL defender who became head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2008. He led the Blackhawks to Stanley Cup Championships in 2010, 2013 and 2015.
Before coming to the Blackhawks he spent seven seasons with the St. Louis Blues, and three more with the Colorado Avalanche, missing the playoffs only one of those years.
He became part of an exclusive list of people to both play in 800 NHL games and coach another 1,000 NHL games.
He had three children with his wife Elizabeth.
Jonathan Toews took Conn Smythe honors as playoff MVP during the Blackhawks' 2010 Stanley Cup run.
