John McCauley

Founding member of the alt rock band Deer Tick, which has become known for its infusion of slower styles into rock. As fans of Nirvana, they've also performed cover concerts of the band under the name Deervana.

Before Fame

He grew up playing in bands in high school, but of a very different musical style, describing one as a "Sonic Youth rip-off band." He formed Deer Tick in 2004.

Trivia

He and the band have performed at Dudefest, a local Rhode Island festival. During Deer Tick's 10-year anniversary tour, he had to fight through a vocal chord blister.

Family Life

He married Vanessa Carlton in 2013 and they had a daughter at the beginning of 2015.

Associated With

His friend Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac fame officiated his wedding.
