Notable as the longest-running host of the United Kingdom's Channel 4 News, Snow was the recipient of several Royal Television Society Awards.
The son of a schoolmaster and a pianist, he grew up in Sussex, England. He later attended Yorkshire Coast College in Scarborough and briefly studied law at the University of Liverpool.
He hosted an acclaimed investigative journalism program titled Sri Lanka's Killing Fields.
His long-term relationship with attorney Madeleine Colvin resulted in two children. In 2010, he married Zimbabwean scholar Precious Lunga.
He conducted an impromptu interview with fellow journalist Alastair Campbell during a period when Campbell was involved in a significant scandal.
