Before fame

He began boxing when he was around 7 years old. He competed nationally throughout his teenage years and earned medals at major U.S. tournaments. He was a 2012 U.S. Olympic alternate. His amateur career peaked in 2013 when he won the National Golden Gloves at 141 pounds. He turned professional in 2013 shortly after his Golden Gloves victory. His breakout moment came in June 2025 when he stopped Avious Griffin with a late knockout. His victory earned him the WBA Continental Americas welterweight title and the WBC USA welterweight title in 2025.
