Former head football coach at the University of Washington. He also served as the head football coach at the University of Sioux Falls from 2005 to 2009 and California State University, Fresno from 2020 to 2021. In 2024 it was announced that he'd become the head coach of the University of Alabama.
Before Fame
He graduated from Milbank High School. From the years 1993 to 1996, he played as a wide receiver at the University of Sioux Falls. In 1998, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in secondary education. He also played baseball at Sioux Falls.
Trivia
In 2006 at the age of 32, he became one of the youngest head coaches to ever win a national title. That same year he was named the NAIA coach of the year. In the year 2023, he was named the Sporting News College Football Coach of the Year after leading the Huskies to an undefeated regular season.
Family Life
He and his wife, Nicole, have one daughter, Alexis.
