King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland who reigned from January 29, 1820 to June 26, 1830. Before he ascended to the throne, he acted as Prince regent for King George III, who was mentally ill. He was known for his elaborate style and for commissioning the remodeling of Buckingham Palace as well as the building of the Royal Pavilion and the rebuilding of Windsor Castle.
