Major league starting pitcher and former Olympian who won gold at the 2020 Summer Olympics as a member of the Japanese men's national team. He first began his professional baseball career with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, winning five Japan Series championships while also becoming a multi-time Pacific League strikeout leader and NPB All-Star.
