Blogger and pop culture critic who has gained fame for her work with NPR, including as the lead writer for the Pop Culture Happy Hour blog. She has also served as lead host of the podcast of the same name, and discussed pop culture on the NPR shows Weekend Edition and All Things Considered.
She graduated from Oberlin College in 1993. She graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School in 1997 with her JD, and practiced law in Minnesota until 2007.
She was a presenter at the 2019 Audie Awards. She has also contributed to MSNBC, Vulture, and TV Guide as a pop culture correspondent.
She has an adopted dog named Brian.
