Before fame

She began experimenting with music and DJing as a teenager around 2014.  She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 2016. She decided to pursue music seriously while attending university in Chicago in 2017.

She is bisexual. She produces music under the name HayLee. She formed the group Kryptonyte in 2018 and rapped under the name Jade Fox. She released her first EP Frank in 2017. Her breakout came when she released her album Couldn't Wait to Tell You in 2020.

Her real name is Hailee Olivia Williams. She was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She was raised in a religious and musical household. She has a brother who plays the drums. Her father played in gospel groups and her mother sang in church choirs.
