Classical musician who performed as a concerto soloist, a recitalist, and a chamber musician.
He was a student at the Royal Manchester College of Music and was a 1981 Sydney International Piano Competition prizewinner.
He became known for his close associations with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and the Manchester Camerata.
His family was residing in Halton, Runcorn, Cheshire, when he was born.
His 1994 recording of Fauré's four-hands Dolly Suite also featured Kathryn Stott on piano.
