Musician and educator who participated in the Tuesday 12 O'Clock Concerts of chamber music from 1907 until her passing in 1936.
She began concertizing around 1887 after studying with Clara Schumann for four years.
She worked with many of the famous conductors of her day, including visiting the United States twice with Theodore Thomas.
She was born to John Wurm, his fourth child out of 10. She took the last name Verne after he died.
She became known for the authenticity of her renditions of Robert Schumann's oeuvre.
